INVOCATION

The Invocation is given by COUNCILMAN TERRENCE M. HASSETT.

“Dear Lord, we ask that you continue to oversee the Council and provide the understanding and patience and kindness of representing the people.  I would ask that we have a moment of silence for Sergeant Maxwell Dorley who passed away and will buried tomorrow.  We ask this in your name.  Amen.”

              Warrant of the City Clerk to David Tassoni, City Sergeant with Return Certification that he has notified each Member of the City Council of the Special Meeting Called for the 26th  day of April, 2012 at 7:30 o’clock P.M., in the City Council Chamber, Third Floor, City Hall.

REPORT FROM COMMITTEE

COMMITTEE ON ORDINANCES

COUNCILMAN SETH YURDIN, Chairman

Transmits the Following with Recommendation the Same Be Adopted, As Amended:

              An Ordinance in Amendment of certain sections of Chapter 17, Article VI of the Code of Ordinances, Entitled: “Retirement System”, As Amended.

              COUNCILMAN YURDIN Moves to Amend the Ordinance to delete Section 17-197 – Health Care Co-Payment Required, seconded by COUNCILMAN NARDUCCI.

              COUNCILMAN YURDIN Moves Passage of the Ordinance the First Time, As Amended, seconded by COUNCILMAN NARDUCCI, by the Following Roll Call Vote:

AYES:              COUNCIL PRESIDENT SOLOMON, COUNCILMAN APONTE, COUNCILWOMAN CASTILLO, COUNCILMEN CORREIA, HASSETT, IGLIOZZI, JACKSON, JENNINGS, COUNCILWOMAN MATOS, COUNCILMAN NARDUCCI, PRINCIPE, SALVATORE, SANCHEZ, YURDIN and ZURIER – 15.

NAYES:              NONE.

ABSENT:              NONE.

The Motion for Passage the First Time is Sustained, As Amended.

Transmits the Following with Recommendation the Same Be Received:

              Report and Recommendation of the Sub-Committee on Pension Sustainability, relative to “Pension Reform Measures and the Sustainability of the Employees’ Retirement System.”

              COUNCIL PRESIDENT SOLOMON Receives the foregoing Report.

              There being no further business, on Motion of COUNCILMAN YURDIN, seconded by COUNCILMAN NARDUCCI, it is voted to adjourn at 8:05 o’clock P.M. (E.D.T.), to meet again MONDAY, APRIL 30, 2012 at 5:00 o’clock P.M. (E.D.T.)
