              Request, filed with the City Clerk, June 24, 2003, Requesting a Special Meeting of the City Council to be Called on the 26th day of June, 2003 at 5:00 o’clock P.M. (E.D.T.)

WARRANT FOR SPECIAL MEETING

 

              Warrant of the City Clerk to Members of the Providence Police Department with Return Certification that they have notified each Member of the City Council of the Special Meeting Called for the 26th day of June, 2003 at 5:00 o’clock P.M. (E.D.T.) in the Chamber of the City Council, City Hall.

COMMITTEE ON FINANCE

COUNCILMAN KEVIN JACKSON, Chairman

 

              Transmits the Following with Recommendation the Same be Adopted, As Amended:

 

              An Ordinance Establishing a Tax Stabilization Plan and related Tax Stabilization Agreement for the GTECH Corporate Headquarters, As Amended.

 

              Read and Passed the First Time on Motion of COUNCILMAN APONTE, seconded by COUNCILWOMAN WILLIAMS, by the Following Roll Call Vote:

 

AYES:              COUNCIL PRESIDENT LOMBARDI, COUNCILMEN ALLEN, APONTE, HASSETT, JACKSON, MANCINI, COUNCILWOMEN ROMANO, WILLIAMS and YOUNG – 9.

 

NAYES:              COUNCILMAN DELUCA – 1.

 

ABSENT:              COUNCILMAN BUTLER, COUNCILWOMAN DIRUZZO, COUNCILMEN IGLIOZZ, LUNA and SEGAL – 5.

 

The Motion for Passage the First Time is Sustained.

 

 

              Transmits the Following with Recommendation the Same be Adopted:

 

              An Ordinance Granting a Tax Exemption and Establishing a Tax Stabilization Plan for Masonic Hotel Developer, LLC on behalf of the Masonic Temple.

 

              COUNCILMAN IGLIOZZI and COUNCILMAN LUNA join the meeting.

 

 

 

              Read and Passed the First Time on Motion of COUNCILMAN APONTE, seconded by COUNCILWOMAN WILLIAMS, by the Following Roll Call Vote:

 

AYES:              COUNCIL PRESIDENT LOMBARDI, COUNCILMEN ALLEN, APONTE, HASSETT, IGLIOZZI, JACKSON, LUNA, MANCINI, COUNCILWOMEN ROMANO, WILLIAMS and YOUNG – 11.

 

NAYES:              COUNCILMAN DELUCA – 1.

 

ABSENT:              COUNCILMAN BUTLER, COUNCILWOMAN DIRUZZO and COUNCILMAN SEGAL – 3.

 

The Motion for Passage the First Time is Sustained.

 

 

ADJOURNMENT

 

              There being no further business, on Motion of COUNCILMAN APONTE, seconded by COUNCILWOMAN WILLIAMS, it is voted to adjourn the meeting at 5:15 o’clock P.M. (E.D.T), to meet again on THURSDAY, JULY 3, 2003 at 7:30 o’clock P.M. (E.D.T)
