MATTER NOT APPEARING ON THE PRINTED DOCKET

 

              On motion of COUNCILMAN HASSETT, seconded by COUNCILMAN DELUCA, it is voted to Suspend Rule 16-B of the City Council Rules in order to allow the introduction of the Following Matter Not Appearing on the Printed Docket.

 

             

PRESENTATION OF RESOLUTION

 

              COUNCILMAN HASSETT, COUNCIL PRESIDENT MANCINI COUNCILMEN APONTE, IGLIOZZI, LUNA and NARDUCCI:

 

              Resolution in Support of Teacher Assistants.

 

              COUNCILMAN HASSETT Moves to Lay the Resolution on the table until July 31, 2008, seconded by COUNCILMAN DELUCA.

PRESENTATION OF RESOLUTIONS

 

              COUNCIL PRESIDENT MANCINI (By Request):

 

              Resolution Authorizing the Mayor to sign a four year agreement with the Providence Public Library for City funding and Library operation of Branches in the City of Providence.

 

              COUNCIL PRESIDENT MANCINI Refers the Resolution to the Committee on Finance.

 

 

              COUNCILMAN HASSETT:

 

              Resolution Authorizing the transfer of all rights of that certain tax reverted property located at 551 Chalkstone Avenue, Assessor’s Plat 260, Lot 69 to the Providence Redevelopment Agency, for the sole purpose of exercising the right of redemption of said property for redevelopment purposes; and said property shall be exempt from city property taxes during the period necessary to acquire the property mentioned herein.

 

              Read and Passed, on Motion of COUNCILMAN HASSETT, seconded by COUNCILMAN DELUCA.

 

              The Motion for Passage is Sustained.

              Resolution, Together with accompanying copy of Collective Bargaining Agreement by and between the City of Providence, Rhode Island and the Rhode Island Laborers’ District Council on behalf of Public Service Employees’ Local Union 1033 of the Laborers’ International Union of North America, AFL-CIO for the period of July 1, 2007 to June 30, 2008.

              An Ordinance making an Appropriation of Three Hundred Twenty Two Million One Hundred Twenty Two Thousand Seven Hundred Twenty Nine Dollars ($322,122,729) for the support of the Providence School Department for the  Fiscal Year ending June 30, 2009, and Repealing Ordinance Chapter 2008-13, Approved February 29, 2008.
